Terms of service

These terms apply to the ClientRadar website and app. By running a scan or creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be read, not skimmed; if something is unclear, ask before you rely on it.

1. What ClientRadar does

ClientRadar asks AI search engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity, as each plan lists) the questions customers ask about local businesses, records the answers, and reports whether a business was named, who was named instead, and what evidence points to a fix. ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answer through their official APIs; Google AI Mode and AI Overviews are Google results recorded through DataForSEO’s SERP API. They closely approximate, but are not identical to, what the consumer apps show, and they change from day to day.

We do not control what any engine says. Nothing on this site is a promise that an engine will recommend your business, and the fix list is a set of evidence-backed suggestions, not a guarantee of results.

2. The free scan

Anyone may run a free scan without an account, limited to three scans per day from one connection. A scan asks 3 questions once on 2 engines. A repeat scan of the same business, city and category within seven days shows the stored answers instead of asking again. A scan page is not listed anywhere unless you tick the box that lets search engines index it.

3. Accounts and plans

An account belongs to one workspace, and a workspace owns its businesses. A business is one location with one website; a brand with several locations needs one business per location. Plan limits (businesses, prompts, engines, samples, competitors, history) are the ones shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe.

Plans are billed monthly or yearly in US dollars. Yearly billing charges ten months for twelve. Extra businesses on Pro and Agency cost $5 a month each. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then moves to the free tier, which keeps your account but stops the weekly runs.

Founding offer: while it is open, that is until the first 100 paid accounts have used it, a plan bought at checkout gets 30% off the plan price for as long as that subscription stays active. The discount is applied with a coupon at checkout and covers the plan only, not extra businesses.

4. 14-day money-back

If ClientRadar is not useful to you, email hello@clientradar.app within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. Refunds are processed by a person, so allow one working day. A refund ends the subscription.

5. Businesses we do not track

The scan form and the app refuse businesses in the categories below. This applies to the business name, its other names, the name in its website address and the category, whatever plan you are on. We do not discuss individual cases.

  • Alcohol, liquor, bars and nightclubs
  • Gambling, casinos and betting
  • Adult entertainment
  • Cannabis, tobacco and vape
  • Interest-based lending (payday loans, credit-card marketing, conventional mortgage brokers)
  • Pork-centric businesses
  • Illegal activity

6. Acceptable use

  • Track only businesses you own or are engaged to market. Do not add a competitor as your business.
  • Prompts are the questions a customer would type: English, at most 200 characters, without links and without another business's name. Prompts that break this are rejected because answers are shared between customers who ask the same question.
  • Do not run scans or requests from scripts, resell access, or try to work around rate limits.
  • Do not remove the methodology and disclosure text from reports you share with clients.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules and will say why when we do.

7. Your data

How we collect, store and delete data is in the privacy policy. In short: we keep what the product needs, IP addresses of scanners are stored only as hashes that change daily or weekly, and deleting your account hard-deletes your businesses, answers and reports within 24 hours.

8. Availability and liability

ClientRadar depends on third-party APIs that can fail, change or be rate-limited. When a call fails we record the failure and retry on the next run; we never substitute an invented answer. The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top says when. A change that affects what you pay or what you get is announced by email at least 14 days before it applies.

10. Contact

Write to hello@clientradar.app, or reply to any email ClientRadar sends you; both reach the person running the service.
